A Jibestream Case Study
Mall of America, the largest mall in the United States with over 520 stores and 40 million annual visitors, faced the challenge of making a vast, frequently reconfigured property easy to navigate while building a data-driven culture. The team needed accurate digital wayfinding, indoor positioning and a maintainable mapping system that could handle constant tenant turnover and integrate with their data architecture—so they turned to Jibestream for an indoor mapping solution.
Jibestream provided an open, agnostic indoor mapping platform (SDKs, APIs and a web-based CMS with a GUI map editor) that integrated with Mall of America’s tenant systems, supported layered maps for multiple stakeholders, and enabled real-time edits from a single source of truth. Jibestream’s platform reduced weekly map maintenance workload by 50% to 200% depending on changes, unlocked flexible web, app and kiosk experiences (Find Your Way, Plan Your Perfect Day, parking navigation and digital concierge), and positioned Mall of America to extend maps into operations and analytics for faster maintenance and better guest experiences.
