A JFrog Case Study
Real-Time Innovations (RTI) develops Connext, a real‑time data‑sharing framework used across industrial IoT applications from autonomous vehicles to healthcare and energy. Facing more than 70 target architectures and dozens of build variants, RTI’s engineers struggled with slow, hard‑to‑reproduce multi‑platform releases and a complex dependency graph, and sought a modern, flexible build infrastructure that wouldn’t lock them into a narrow toolset.
RTI adopted CMake for automation, Conan for C/C++ package management, and JFrog Artifactory as a universal artifact repository, using unique Conan profiles and about 30 package recipes to manage per‑target builds. Centralized caching and Jenkins integration sped dependency resolution and reproducible builds, cutting time to change dependencies by roughly 50% and reducing a full release cycle from up to two days to under one day while scaling for global teams and simplifying developer onboarding.
