Shaw University Uses Jenzabar Managed Services to Align IT Capabilities With Institutional Goals

Shaw University, a historic private liberal arts university, was struggling to support campus-wide IT after relying on an outsourced model and an incumbent database administrator that limited visibility and control. To regain ownership of its technology and better leverage its student information system, Shaw engaged Jenzabar’s Managed Services to stabilize operations and align IT capabilities with institutional goals.

Jenzabar implemented a contract-to-hire managed-services model, recruiting, training and placing new IT leaders and staff (including a new CIO) and helping Shaw launch an internal help desk. As a result of Jenzabar’s work, Shaw brought IT in house, cutting contract costs by $157K over three years, achieving 99.95% uptime for mission‑critical ERP applications, resolving more than 5,000 tickets since July 2019 with satisfaction exceeding 96%, and improving campus-wide IT support and governance.
