How Berry College implemented a successful upgrade

Berry College, an independent co-educational institution of about 2,000 students and a Jenzabar ERP client for more than 25 years, faced the challenge of upgrading to the latest Jenzabar EX without disrupting daily operations or confusing users. College leadership and IT aimed to build campus-wide support for a major change in how staff and students interact with the ERP, emphasizing the need for a smooth transition and clear user adoption of new features like MyWorkspace.

To ensure success, Berry partnered closely with Jenzabar—hosting a Jenzabar-attended “MyWorkspace Launch Party” (133 attendees), running one-on-one module manager meetings, small-group trainings, and testing the upgrade in advance. The result was high enthusiasm and faster, more efficient departmental workflows: personalized workspaces, an agile UI, and in-app business intelligence dashboards streamlined tasks (for example, transfer credit and transcript processing), improving service delivery to students and enabling better performance measurement.
