Charleston Southern University Digitalizes Housing Process and Enhances Campus Experience With Jenzabar Student

Charleston Southern University (CSU), which houses roughly 1,300 of its 3,400 students, faced a slow, manual housing process that consumed 50–60 staff hours per term, stretched over about six weeks, and left students frustrated. To modernize and streamline housing selection, residence life and IT selected Jenzabar and implemented the Jenzabar Student housing solution.

Jenzabar Student digitized CSU’s housing lottery and room/roommate selection, unified student records, improved communications, and returned ownership of the process to students. As a result of Jenzabar’s implementation CSU saw a 10% increase in upperclassmen choosing to stay on campus, captured more returning students earlier in the cycle for better semester planning, freed up staff resources, and reported markedly higher student satisfaction (rated 10/10 by staff).
