Stadtwerke Halle, a municipal services group with over €1 billion in revenue and 2,700 employees, needed better control of its energy business through subsidiary EVH, which handles accounting and controlling for seven energy companies. Market reforms and volatile energy prices exposed weaknesses in their outdated BI landscape: two separate planning/reporting systems, manual data transfers, frequent crashes and no uniform data model led to time-consuming processes, errors and lost confidence in the numbers.

EVH selected Jedox to unify planning, analysis and reporting with an Excel-like, web-enabled interface. After two days of training they deployed the solution in three weeks, integrating upstream systems, enabling local web plan entry and single-sign-on. The result: automated data flows, dynamic reports and dashboards, administration reduced to under one FTE, faster, more reliable planning and reporting, and capacity to roll the system out to subsidiaries and focus on higher-value analysis.
