Reporting, Planning and Analysis of Sap Data With the Jedox Bi Suite

Süddeutscher Verlag, a major German media group centered on the Süddeutsche Zeitung, relied on SAP BW for its central data warehouse but struggled with slow queries and the complexity of SAP’s reporting tools. The finance/controlling team needed a flexible, Excel-friendly BI layer to support group-wide reporting, planning and ad‑hoc analysis and selected the Jedox BI Suite for its Excel integration, SAP connectivity and performance.

Jedox was implemented as a group-wide platform in six months, using the Jedox ETL server to load SAP BW delta data into OLAP cubes and providing an Excel add-in plus the ISIS web portal for report publishing. Automated nightly and hourly loads, self-service cube modeling and web-based planning gave ~80 users fast, flexible reporting and planning, reduced manual Excel processes, enabled print-ready reporting and rolling cash planning, and delivered measurable time and cost savings.
