Monash College, the pathway provider owned by Monash University, faced growing pains in its finance and HR planning as staff numbers and reporting needs increased. Relying on Excel files stored on SharePoint created manual, error‑prone processes with multiple templates, poor version control and a budgeting cycle that could take up to six months, prompting a need for a more robust, user‑driven solution.
The college implemented a Jedox planning and budgeting workflow with web‑published Excel templates, an approval workflow and dynamic hierarchies, giving business units ownership of their budgets and Finance better oversight. The change cut budget preparation from six months to two, improved forecasting and reporting accuracy, enabled faster reforecasting and set the stage for integrated revenue and payroll planning linked to the general ledger.
