Mitsui increases forecast accuracy with AI and Predictive Analytics

Mitsui Chemicals Europe, the European arm of Mitsui Chemicals, faced overly complex sales planning built on Microsoft SQL, Access and Excel that limited agility across many product groups. Working with Jedox partner HighCoordination, the company modernized planning with the Jedox platform and then piloted Jedox’s Predictive Forecast AI to improve 12‑month rolling sales forecasts despite initially limited historical data.

Using the Jedox AI module plus the Jedox integrator to bring legacy SAP data into optimized data cubes, Mitsui achieved granular forecasts by product SKU, customer, material and region and now runs AI predictions in parallel with manual plans. Forecast accuracy rose to as much as 96% for several product groups, enabling faster, more transparent decision‑making and paving the way for further automation as the dataset grows.
