Efficient Earnings Planning with Jedox at Spital Thurgau

Spital Thurgau is a large Swiss healthcare group operating two hospitals, psychiatric services and a rehabilitation clinic with over 3,300 staff. The finance team relied on SAP for operations and QlikView for reporting but lacked a clinic-level sales planning tool, instead using numerous complex Excel files that were merged manually—a slow, error-prone process that needed a fast implementation while day-to-day operations continued.

Working with partner Heyde AG, Spital Thurgau implemented Jedox as a central planning database integrated with QlikView and SAP, automating data flows and standardizing budgeting. Driver-based revenue planning (inpatient cases, CMI, beds, tariffs, etc.) and automated distributions replaced the Excel “document jungle,” enabling planning in seconds instead of hours, nightly exports to QlikView, daily-updated budgeted income statements, greater flexibility for finance and self-service maintenance without internal IT.
