Safety National, a long‑standing leader in excess workers’ compensation for self‑insured employers, faced a major industry gap: no reliable benchmarking data for TPAs and self‑insured organizations to compare claim costs and performance. To address this, Safety National’s Insurance Data Services engaged JBKnowledge to build the CompMark Claims Benchmarking tool, a web‑based portal that would collect and analyze non‑identifying claims data for meaningful peer benchmarking.

JBKnowledge implemented the CompMark system for IDS by aggregating HIPAA‑compliant, stripped claims data and delivering three key benchmarks—Average Cost of Claim, Number of Claims, and Total Incurred—through a searchable portal. The solution currently includes nine members and about 7.5 million claims, enabling TPAs and self‑funded employers to benchmark performance, improve claims processing, and drive cost control; JBKnowledge continues to support data quality and future reporting enhancements.
