The University of East London (UEL), a diverse institution of over 23,000 students, faced rapidly rising student numbers and needed a modern, easy-to-deploy reporting solution for its Student System. Its ten-year-old desktop reporting tool was slow and limited, and Microsoft and Oracle alternatives proved awkward or non-intuitive.

After an extended trial, UEL adopted Jaspersoft iReport—simple to deploy, intuitive for developers and fast to implement—enabling even a trainee to migrate reports and go live quickly. The system now supports around 80 reports for roughly 200 core and 900 total users on a standard server with no performance issues; UEL is rolling out Jaspersoft 3.7 for ad hoc reporting and dashboards and reports an efficient, low‑maintenance solution that meets staff needs.
