Tomax, an independent software vendor serving more than 100 retail chains with its Retail.net suite, needed a robust, low-cost reporting and analytics framework that delivered real-time, role-aware insights from transaction-level to SKU- and region-level rollups. The company required BI that fit its J2EE/JBoss portal architecture, supported single sign-on and Java APIs, worked with Oracle and PostgreSQL, and was easy to integrate so development could stay focused on retail functionality.

Tomax selected the Jaspersoft Professional BI suite and embedded its reporting, scheduling, dashboards, iReport design tool and ad-hoc query capabilities as portal portlets tied to user roles. The integrated solution supports real-time dashboards (refreshing as often as every 30 seconds), scales to multi-terabyte deployments, enables customers to self-serve report and dashboard changes, and delivered faster time-to-value, greater operational visibility and cost-effective information delivery across channels.
