SoftServe, a global software consulting firm, was hired to build a network security solution that needed high-performance, flexible reporting capable of handling massive log volumes (up to 4,000 records/sec per device and as many as 7 billion records/day). The solution had to run on Linux, allow end users to drill down into data in real time and support multiple report formats and integration points.

SoftServe chose Jaspersoft for its OLAP, ETL, APIs and JasperReports Server, which provided fast integration, self-service reporting and flexible export options. The result: core ramp-up in three weeks (vs. an estimated seven), the project completed in seven months with a 25-person team, development costs reduced by about 25%, and query processing that was 30–35% faster on average (and up to 100% faster for some reports).
