Illuminate Education provides web-based K–12 solutions (Student Information, Data & Assessment, and Special Education) to districts in California and Michigan. The company struggled with fragmented data and slow, costly custom reporting—developers often spent six to eight weeks building each report, creating maintenance and versioning burdens and leaving teachers and administrators without timely access to student performance information.

Illuminate embedded Jaspersoft BI and ETL into its application so reports run via web services in the native UI and users can interactively filter and export results (HTML, PDF, Excel) and drill into student profiles. The change cut report development time to a fraction of what it was, enabled districts to design their own reports (Illuminate supplied templates and about 10 customer-built reports joined the standard set), provided near–real-time integration of roughly 25 external datasets, and gave teachers and admins fast, seamless access to integrated data—a clear competitive differentiator.
