Illuminate Education, a K–12 data and assessment platform serving districts, principals, teachers, parents and students, was hampered by slow, code‑based reporting. Engineers were hand‑coding PHP exports to Excel, which was time‑consuming, produced stale exported data, lacked design and visualization focus, and pulled resources away from core testing, attendance and scheduling modules — risking client dissatisfaction across diverse state testing requirements and user roles.

The team embedded TIBCO Jaspersoft (Jaspersoft Studio and Visualize.js) with help from TIBCO Professional Services to deliver visual, configurable reports that users can build themselves. Deployment times fell from weeks to days, the report catalog grew from ~25 to 350+, usage expanded from 3 to 42 states with hundreds of thousands of reports run monthly, and the improved visuals and self-service capabilities drove strong word‑of‑mouth growth and plans for geospatial and predictive features.
