Independent Data Services (IDS) delivers web-based operational analysis and reporting for upstream oil & gas and related industries. IDS faced a major challenge in data quality and consistency: every client used different codes, formats, and structures, which made benchmarking and their ANOVA-as-a-Service unreliable unless disparate datasets could be aligned and validated and insights presented in industry language.

IDS deployed its Lean Automated Reporting solution combined with TIBCO Jaspersoft (ETL, server, Visualize.js and Studio) to align data by time/depth, reduce manual data entry, and apply machine learning to turn noise into signal. The result: workload nearly halved—freeing developers to innovate—faster ad hoc analysis and dashboards, broader service offerings with an expected 50–100% new client growth, and improved data storytelling that paves the way for real-time situational awareness.
