Transport for NSW transitions 141 centres to Janison’s cloud testing platform

Transport for NSW faced the challenge of overhauling its legacy system for delivering high-volume driver license knowledge tests. The cumbersome process was difficult for staff to manage and lacked the flexibility needed to meet growing demand and evolving road safety education goals. To address this, they partnered with vendor Janison to implement a new cloud-based assessment platform.

Janison's solution deployed secure Chromebooks to deliver tests remotely, streamlining the process for both staff and test-takers. The platform successfully runs 31 test variations in 10 languages and provides real-time data. By December 2019, 141 centres were transitioned to the new system, which supports 600,000 annual tests. The rollout was a success, requiring minimal staff training and resulting in a more stable, scalable testing experience that saves taxpayer money and contributes to improved road safety outcomes.
