The NSW Department of Education (NSW DoE) needed to identify Year 7 students at risk of falling behind in literacy and numeracy with a new, large-scale digital assessment. They engaged vendor Janison to build a secure, scalable SaaS solution that could quickly deliver intricate diagnostic data and integrate with all schools' existing IT systems.
Janison tailored its Janison Insights platform to host the Best Start Year 7 assessment, which was completed by 41,000 students. The solution delivered over 75,000 tests with no technical issues, providing real-time data to teachers. A survey found over 95% of participating schools agreed the exam would successfully help identify students requiring additional support.
