A JAMS Case Study
Crane Group, a private holding company in Columbus, Ohio with a portfolio of manufacturing and building-trades businesses, faced growing complexity from organic growth and acquisitions. Tasks and jobs were scattered across Windows Task Scheduler, SQL Server Agent and native JD Edwards schedulers, which lacked enterprise features like job dependency triggers, scheduling windows, workflow visibility, parameter handling and support for multiple fiscal calendars.
Crane implemented JAMS from MVP Systems as a centralized scheduler across JD Edwards instances and servers, with onsite help and training and an implementation under a month. The result was automated, reliable order processing with graphical dependency views, proactive alerts for failures or missed windows, better monitoring of long-running jobs, and reduced end-user disruption — a true “set it and forget it” scheduling backbone for the company.
