University of Oregon - Customer Case Study

The University of Oregon, a public flagship research university, needed a way to manage its growing number of Apple devices across its decentralized IT environment. Their challenge was to empower various departments to provide tailored IT services while still aligning on common technology goals for security and deployment. They chose Jamf to help centralize device management without sacrificing departmental autonomy.

Using Jamf, the university established a decentralized model where 13 departments manage over 1,400 Macs and hundreds of iOS devices. The solution allowed individual IT teams to rapidly make changes, control software updates, and perform lifecycle management, which reduced staff support time and increased the quality of service. Jamf provided the tools for these small teams to utilize a strong management system, leading to greater efficiencies and a better-tailored experience for each department.
