A Jamf Case Study
The University of Central Lancashire in Preston, UK needed a better way to manage and keep up to date 300 Macs across a Windows-based network with different configurations for departments, faculty, loan-out laptops, and labs. Manual software installation and client-side monitoring were too time-consuming, so the university turned to Jamf and the Casper Suite to streamline Mac management.
Jamf implemented the Casper Suite to remotely distribute software, push updates, remove problematic applications, and let departmental technicians use Self Service to install approved software themselves. This reduced post-imaging work, simplified maintenance, and improved control over software access, with Criss Myers saying one person could manage far more Macs and that the process had become much easier.
