How Alberta Health Services transformed telehealth and the patient experience amid a global pandemic.

Alberta Health Services, Canada’s largest fully integrated health system, wanted a modern bedside solution that would improve the patient experience while protecting privacy and easing IT workload. Its older in-room TV system and existing MDM could not support a 500-iPad deployment or properly reset devices between patients, so AHS turned to Jamf and its Jamf Pro and Jamf Reset products.

Jamf implemented a managed iPad workflow for bedside entertainment and, during COVID-19, added Virtual Visits to enable secure telehealth and family connections. The rollout was completed in days across 500 iPads, and the impact included more than 10,000 virtual visits and 100,000 minutes of virtual communication, while reducing PPE use, limiting in-person exposure, and helping patients stay connected to loved ones.
