European Synchrotron Radiation Facility - Customer Case Study

European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF), the world’s most intense X‑ray source in Grenoble, needed a scalable CMS to manage content across its intranet and extranet with roughly 50 authors and a large, content‑dense site. ESRF required content reuse, automated maintenance, LDAP integration, extensibility with supported modules, separate live/staging workspaces, and multilingual support, and chose Jahia’s Digital Experience Manager (DX) platform to meet these needs.

Jahia implemented its DX platform (migration from Plone, sites built with partners CGI and Ngoar, upgraded to DX7/7.1) and delivered redesigned internet and intranet sites—new extranet components went live January 2017—enabling easy content reuse, JCR queries and batch operations, and rapid creation of content types. The result was a modernised platform that supports ~50 authors, serves about 30,000 extranet and 3,000 intranet unique visitors per month, improves collaboration with industrial clients, and simplified maintenance and publishing workflows for ESRF.
