Scripps Research, one of the world’s largest independent nonprofit biomedical research institutes, faced slow, paper‑based procurement that diverted researchers’ time and delayed critical experiments. To modernize procure‑to‑pay and give scientists faster access to supplies, Scripps selected JAGGAER’s eProcurement shopping platform delivered as a SaaS solution.
JAGGAER implemented an online marketplace, catalog management and transparent buying tools that centralized catalogs, reduced manual approvals and increased visibility into spend. The transformation grew to more than 1,500 users (over 90% of orders) and delivered measurable benefits: labs spend 85% less time ordering, many gained ~20 research hours per week, order processors dropped from an average of 17 to 3, and material costs fell by at least 7%, enabling contract renegotiations that saved hundreds of thousands of dollars.
