Pan-Government Spend Analysis Project Identifies Massive Savings for Government

The Government Procurement Service engaged JAGGAER to tackle a complex pan‑government procurement challenge: 17 central departments, more than 80 source systems, 15 million transactions and £98 billion of procurement spend over three years, all with poor and inconsistent data. GPS needed a centralised, uniform spend analysis programme to identify aggregation opportunities and drive long‑term procurement transformation, so they appointed JAGGAER to deliver a durable procurement analytics strategy and spend analysis solution.

JAGGAER implemented a two‑phase programme—establishing a baseline across central government and then creating a single, monthly refreshed spend analysis capability down to invoice and PO line level—collecting data from 78 organisations and analysing over £47 billion of spend. The JAGGAER solution trained 140+ users, delivered unprecedented visibility into macro and micro spend, enabled mapping of target spend to supplier delivery and SME spend identification, and identified £426 million of price savings across central government.
