Case Study: Drexel University achieves streamlined supplier management and accelerated sourcing with JAGGAER

Drexel University, a major research institution in Philadelphia, faced a fragmented procurement environment that relied heavily on p‑cards, lacked supplier visibility, and strained a small sourcing team responsible for $350M in annual spend. To modernize procure-to-pay and supplier records and boost user acceptance, Drexel adopted JAGGAER (initially installing JAGGAER Supplier Management) and branded the procurement platform internally as Smart Source.

Using JAGGAER, Drexel centralized and cleaned supplier data, launched a supplier portal and scorecards, and shifted much spend from p‑cards into Smart Source for greater visibility and fewer duplicate payments. Drexel then extended the deployment with the JAGGAER Sourcing module (implemented with partner RiseNow) and sourcing accelerators—enabling roughly three times as many sourcing events with the same staff, faster reconciliations, reduced admin burden, and improved supplier selection and accountability.
