A JAGGAER Case Study
Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, a leading nonprofit cancer research institute, faced an unsustainable, paper‑based procurement process as it expanded facilities and research programs. Investigators and purchasing staff were bogged down by slow, manual ordering that delayed supplies and distracted scientists from core research—so Fred Hutch turned to JAGGAER’s eProcurement solution to provide a scalable, data‑driven purchasing platform.
JAGGAER implemented an online eProcurement marketplace (launching with 40 vendors and growing to ~300, most with hosted content) and automated requisition-to‑PO workflows with analytics to manage spend. The results: 85% of spend managed in JAGGAER, volume grew eightfold to $480M (2017) while buyer headcount fell 20%, 72% of requisitions convert to POs same day (18% next day), average delivery times fell to 1–3 days (about one‑third of the prior time), inventory costs declined, and investigators reclaimed roughly 60–90 minutes a day to focus on research. JAGGAER’s solution directly enabled these efficiency and cost improvements.
