HealthTrust Purchasing Group, one of the largest U.S. healthcare GPOs representing over 1,400 hospitals and 10,600 other care sites with $18.1B in contracted spend, faced pervasive off‑contract purchasing and limited visibility across millions of transactions. To maintain its “one‑price‑for‑all” contracting philosophy and ensure members direct the required share of spend to contracted vendors, HealthTrust turned to JAGGAER’s spend management/spend analysis solution to track compliance and uncover leakage.

Using JAGGAER, HealthTrust implemented facility-level “price points,” master‑file matching and multi-dimensional spend analysis (by category, facility, IDN, contract, supplier, and item) to monitor compliance and flag missed savings. JAGGAER’s visibility enabled HealthTrust to recover an additional $2M in identified savings in eight months for a large network and demonstrated that on‑contract purchasing typically yields about 10% aggregate savings, helping prevent future slippage.
