How McDonald’s and JAGGAER Established a New Era of Procurement for Restaurants and Suppliers

McDonald’s Italy sought to modernize and centralize its procurement across restaurants and franchisees, moving the full supplier relationship online — from selection to negotiation — to improve efficiency, reduce time-to-market, and broaden supplier choice. To achieve this, McDonald’s partnered with JAGGAER to deploy a web portal where suppliers could register, submit qualifications, and access McDonald’s requirements and tenders.

JAGGAER implemented a digitized supplier portal that eliminated paper and email-heavy processes, enabling seamless tender management and collaboration; it was first used by the Supply Chain and Construction divisions (about 80% of Italian purchases) and now hosts roughly 400 registered suppliers. The portal delivered faster vendor selection, greater supplier visibility and positive supplier engagement, extended use into sales tenders, reverse logistics and energy sourcing, and set the stage for KPI-based supplier performance tracking — a solution JAGGAER is helping McDonald’s scale across other countries.
