How ifm Achieves Better Prices with eProcurement

ifm electronic gmbh, a global leader in industrial automation, faced growing pain from an aging catalog-management setup that handled roughly 7,000 catalog items from about 850 suppliers and more than 2,500 free-text purchase requests per year. The external platform limited price negotiations and supplier choice and could not scale with ifm’s SAP ERP rollout, so ifm engaged JAGGAER to provide an integrated eProcurement solution (along with Supplier Management, SSO and EDI connectivity).

JAGGAER implemented its eProcurement and Supplier Management tools integrated with ifm’s ERP, standardizing supplier registration (about 150 annual applications and ~450 approved main suppliers), automating PREQ-to-PO workflows, and enabling independent catalog selection and price negotiation. The JAGGAER solution has reduced manual processing, shortened order and approval times, improved transparency and order-tracking for roughly 1,000 initial users (scaling to 6,000 employees), and delivered full ERP/EDI compatibility—achieving ifm’s goals for flexible pricing, faster processing and automated, transparent procurement.
