A JAGGAER Case Study
Bryn Mawr College, a prestigious women’s liberal arts college in Pennsylvania, faced limited visibility into spending and no centralized purchasing: most ordering and invoicing were manual, invoices often didn’t reach purchasing, and an existing electronic system processed less than 5% of orders. To revamp procurement and capture a clearer picture of spend and contract compliance, the college selected JAGGAER’s eProcurement solution to automate purchasing and payments.
JAGGAER implemented a source-to-settle eProcurement and accounts-payable workflow, engaging the campus community to drive standardized processes and high user adoption. As a result, Bryn Mawr gained visibility into roughly $40 million of addressable spend, achieved average savings up to 22% on IT, office supplies and lab purchases within eight months, increased purchase order spending from 5% to 35% (with an 80% contract-compliance goal), and enabled faculty and staff to comparison-shop via an easy, eCommerce-style interface; the college also identified opportunities like outsourcing printing to save about $100,000 annually.
