Wayne State University Saves $2.5 Million per Year with Streamlined Procurement

Wayne State University, a public research institution in Detroit, needed a better way to manage procure to pay. With 13 schools and colleges, about 24,000 students, 70,000 invoices a year, and 800 business users, the university wanted to cut costs, simplify procurement, and improve customer satisfaction. It turned to JAGGAER One, including the eProcurement and Invoicing modules, to replace a cumbersome manual process.

JAGGAER helped Wayne State University centralize and automate purchasing, and the university later added Supplier Management and Contracts. The results included invoice processing time dropping from one month to five days, average savings of $2.5 million per year over a 5-year period, a 20% reduction in P-Card spend from about $12 million to $10 million per year, and 95% of direct spend flowing through JAGGAER.
