Olentangy Local School District, a Lewis Center, Ohio K–12 system with about 19,000 students and 25 facilities, faced rising utility costs and lacked real-time visibility into building energy performance. District leaders wanted to spot unexpected demand peaks and eliminate outlier buildings that used significantly more energy than similar sites, so they turned to JadeTrack and its Utility Bill Management & Real-time Monitoring / JadeTrack software platform for operational intelligence.

In April 2014 Olentangy implemented JadeTrack to monitor electricity in 15 elementary schools and gas across 12 buildings, gaining daily performance visibility that uncovered issues like simultaneous heating/cooling, poor insulation, and behavioral waste. With JadeTrack’s monitoring and analytics the district identified and fixed inefficiencies, saving more than $950,000 in the first two years and planning to expand JadeTrack into curriculum and broader operational use.
