Hp and Jabil Revolutionize Manufacturing With World-class 3d Printing Solutions

HP wanted to accelerate the adoption of additive manufacturing for production parts, but needed strong manufacturing expertise, process discipline, and supply chain control to prove the technology at scale. To do that, HP partnered with Jabil and used Jabil’s additive manufacturing expertise alongside HP’s Multi Jet Fusion 3D printing system to validate production-quality parts and manufacturing economics.

Jabil helped HP design, test, qualify, and ramp more than 50 3D-printed parts for HP printers, while speeding iterations and improving part design. The collaboration cut costs dramatically—one $20 traditional part could be made for less than $6 with MJF and be 70% lighter—while also reducing time-to-market, enabling up to 19 design iterations in the time of one traditional cycle, and supporting HP’s broader move toward volume production.
