Glide Technologies Partners With Nypro Healthcare to Produce Innovative Patientcentric Medical Device

Glide Pharmaceutical Technologies, a UK healthcare company, was developing the Glide SDI®, a novel solid-dose injector designed to improve patient comfort, adherence, and convenience for self-administered therapies and vaccines. As a small specialty pharma company with limited internal resources, it needed help refining the device design, running human factors studies and clinical trials, meeting regulatory requirements, and preparing for scale-up to commercialization. Jabil’s Nypro Healthcare was chosen to support the project with end-to-end product development and manufacturing expertise.

Jabil worked with Glide to refine prototypes, perform FMEA risk analysis, conduct human factors testing, and use advanced modeling and rapid 3D prototyping to improve safety, durability, and usability. The collaboration helped reduce design time and costs, uncovered and corrected operating issues early, and produced a device that scored much higher in follow-up user studies, with strong preference over standard needle-and-liquid injectors. Jabil also helped position Glide for commercialization and future manufacturing scale-up, giving the company a clearer path to market and ready samples for prospective partners.
