Case Study: Bloom Energy advances clean, reliable power with Jabil

A Jabil Case Study

Preview of the Bloom Energy Case Study

Bloom Energy and Jabil Generate a Powerful Partner/customer Relationship

Bloom Energy, a U.S.-based energy company, needed a manufacturing partner to help bring its disruptive solid oxide fuel cell technology to market. Because its Energy Server solution was being built from the ground up, the company sought a vendor that could provide product design, supply chain, and manufacturing support while staying flexible enough to adapt as the business evolved. Jabil was selected to help Bloom scale this new energy platform.

Jabil delivered full product design, supply chain, and manufacturing services, along with advanced engineering and DFM support to move Bloom from NPI into volume production. Jabil also installed a 250kW Bloom Energy Server at its Blue Sky Innovation Center, creating a real-world proof point for the technology. The system generates more than 2 million kWh annually, has reduced 300,000 pounds of CO2, and is expected to save about 32% on electricity bills over 15 years while removing 4.5 million pounds of CO2 over its life.
