The customer, VetsEZ, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, needed to improve the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) for the VA. They engaged vendor J2 Interactive to develop a management portal that would integrate prescription history data directly into clinical workflows.

J2 Interactive used HealthShare to build a solution that brings a patient’s controlled substance information directly into the VistA system at the point of care. This deployment enhanced the existing manual process and fulfilled the requirements of the MISSION Act, marking a major milestone for the VA by allowing its providers to query prescription histories across state systems.
