City of Toronto integrates 38 buildings with J2 Innovations

The City of Toronto faced a challenge in managing its diverse portfolio of new and legacy building automation systems (BAS) across its real estate, which had become complex and inefficient. To simplify implementation and management, the city partnered with vendor J2 Innovations to adopt its FIN Framework as a vendor-agnostic, centralized integration platform.

J2 Innovations' FIN Framework provided a unified front-end that integrated numerous systems, streamlining operations and enabling remote access for staff. The solution resulted in faster issue diagnosis, more efficient use of staff time, and a reduction in travel and emissions. By January 2024, 38 buildings had been integrated with positive feedback from operations staff, and the platform future-proofs the investment by supporting open protocols and data standards.
