Case Study: UCSD IGPP unifies primary and secondary storage with TrueNAS from iXsystems

The Cecil H. and Ida M. Green Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics (IGPP) at UCSD required a unified storage solution for its 200 users in a complex multi-OS environment. Existing solutions from other vendors failed to meet key requirements like full AFP share support, snapshots, and off-site replication, adding undesirable complexity to their network.

iXsystems provided a TrueNAS appliance that met all the institute's needs, including support for multiple protocols and ZFS-based snapshots and replication. The department was so pleased with the performance and support that they purchased a second TrueNAS system for added data security. iXsystems' responsive support team provided critical assistance and even integrated a feature request from the IGPP into a future software release.
