Case Study: Nevada Department of Corrections achieves scalable statewide storage with iXsystems TrueNAS

Nevada Department of Corrections deploys 800 TB across 20+ facilities with iXsystems

The Nevada Department of Corrections (NDOC) faced challenges managing its legacy direct-attached storage and the growing data strain from surveillance videos across its 20+ facilities. To address this, NDOC's IT Manager reached out to iXsystems to evaluate their TrueNAS Enterprise and Certified storage systems as a potential solution.

iXsystems implemented a solution using TrueNAS and FreeNAS Certified devices, deploying 18 systems with over 800 TB of raw capacity statewide. This provided NDOC with radically improved performance, data integrity, and a scalable, unified platform for its virtualized environment. The agency achieved future-proof, fully-supported storage at a fraction of the cost of traditional solutions, with iXsystems praised for their expert customization and support.
