Case Study: iostudio achieves scalable high-throughput media storage with iXsystems TrueNAS

iostudio scales 4K video editing with iXsystems and 192TB of TrueNAS storage

iostudio, an award-winning marketing agency, needed to consolidate its aging and disparate storage solutions into a single, manageable system. The challenge was to find a scalable, high-throughput storage platform with robust data protection to handle the increased demands of 4K video production. Familiar with the OpenZFS file system, iostudio engaged with iXsystems to find a commercially supported solution using TrueNAS.

iXsystems implemented a TrueNAS storage array that provided iostudio with 192TB of storage. The solution delivered the necessary high performance and low latency for multiple editors working on 4K video simultaneously, while also reducing storage costs. iostudio now benefits from a self-healing file system with data integrity safeguards and seamless integration with their Apple-based environment using AFP and NFS protocols. The team at iXsystems provided expert assistance throughout the process, ensuring a smooth deployment.
