Firstlink Technology, an IT service company, needed to build an inexpensive content management and storage system for the Sanford International Golf Tournament PGA Tour. The challenge was to create a solution that could easily share, protect, and sync media from the event while adhering to a limited budget. They turned to vendor iXsystems for a solution using TrueNAS.

iXsystems provided a TrueNAS Mini XL system with 18TB of capacity. This portable solution enabled seamless file sharing between workstations and Chromebooks at the event. A custom script automated backups to the TrueNAS Mini XL, and this data was then replicated to Firstlink's main TrueNAS infrastructure for robust, multi-location redundancy. The solution from iXsystems successfully protected the event's data at a fraction of the cost of a cloud-only option, leading Firstlink to consider purchasing additional TrueNAS systems for their own office.
