FirstLink Technology, an IT service company, needed a portable and budget-friendly storage solution for the PGA Tour's Sanford International Golf Tournament to share and protect media. They turned to iXsystems to implement a system that would easily synchronize with their existing infrastructure to prevent data loss.

iXsystems provided a FreeNAS Mini XL, which offered 18TB of redundant storage in a small form factor. The solution included custom scripts to automatically back up data to the NAS, which was then replicated to FirstLink's main TrueNAS system for robust, multi-location redundancy. The portable system was successfully deployed for the tournament and is planned for use for the next five years, providing a cost-effective alternative to cloud storage and leading the customer to consider further purchases from iXsystems.
