Better Origin, a company that creates autonomous insect farms in shipping containers to convert waste into animal feed, needed to remotely monitor their systems located in remote areas. Their challenge was to verify the effectiveness of their automated feeding program without requiring a physical on-site presence. They turned to IXON and implemented their IXON Cloud platform, specifically using IXON Cloud Logging and a 4G router.

Using IXON's solution, Better Origin automatically gathered and logged all crucial data from their PLCs to the cloud. This allowed them to remotely monitor the health and feeding of the insect larvae and verify process performance. By linking this data to their own app via the IXON Cloud API, they improved the customer experience. The implementation from IXON led to significant time and cost savings on internal R&D and reduced required site visits by at least 50% during the early deployment stages.
