U.S.-Based Telecom Providing Company - Customer Case Study

U.S.-Based Telecom Providing Company, a Tier 1 mobile service provider with more than 100 million subscribers, needed better visibility into its mobile network to analyze performance, correlate subscriber sessions, and support service assurance without adding overhead or more SPAN ports. Its existing probe-based setup was struggling with traffic growth, consuming CPU and memory for session correlation instead of KPI generation, and driving up CAPEX as the network scaled.

Ixia implemented its Network Tool Optimizer (NTO 7300), Flow Distribution Module, and GTP Session Controller (7433) to centralize traffic visibility, offload session correlation from probes, and improve traffic delivery to the right tools. As a result, Ixia helped reduce probe load by 30–40%, cut CAPEX by up to 50%, and reduce MTTR, while enabling a scalable architecture that could grow by adding GSCs instead of more probes.
