Republic Polytechnic Partners with Ixia to Nurture Cybersecurity Professionals

Republic Polytechnic partnered with Ixia to help address Singapore’s growing cybersecurity skills gap and prepare students in its Diploma in Infocomm Security Management (DISM) program for real-world cyber threats. The challenge was to equip learners with the hands-on expertise needed to defend against increasingly sophisticated attacks, including phishing, malware, intrusions, and DDoS incidents.

Ixia implemented a cyber range training environment, using its traffic generation and Application and Threat Intelligence (ATI) technologies alongside a SOC lab and network simulation equipment. This gave students a safe, authentic setting to practice offensive and defensive security skills, and the result was a three-year program that delivers industry-valued, hands-on experience in areas like ethical hacking, intrusion detection, and network resiliency, helping produce job-ready cybersecurity professionals.
