A Large United States Federal Agency needed better visibility into traffic in its highly virtualized, multi-tenant data centers, where east–west traffic between virtual machines created major blind spots. Ixia introduced its integrated virtualized visibility platform, including vTaps and Vision ONE packet brokers, to help the agency monitor data more effectively and deliver traffic to the right tools at the right time.

Ixia implemented an end-to-end visibility architecture that enabled secure traffic access, filtering, tunneling, and packet processing across virtual environments. The solution improved network visibility, supported monitoring and trend analysis, and helped preserve workload performance while meeting security requirements. After testing 100 vTaps, the agency planned a broader rollout across all seven data centers, potentially deploying several thousand vTaps and numerous NPBs.
