Fork Union Military Academy, a college-prep boarding school in Fork Union, Virginia, faced the challenge of a small donor pool and the difficulty of fundraising in a community where many parents were already contributing through tuition. To help identify better prospects and expand giving during the pandemic, the academy used iWave wealth screening.
Using iWave, the fundraising team screened 6,000 prospects to find existing donors whose wealth had increased over time, then segmented them into high-priority prospects for direct outreach and others for email campaigns. This allowed Fork Union Military Academy to target donors with higher giving potential, prompted gifts such as turning $120 donations into $1,200 gifts, saved significant time and resources, and helped increase yield for three consecutive years.
