Case Study: WVG Münster achieves a new fare model in five months with IVU Traffic Technologies

WVG Münster needed to introduce the new WestfalenTarif fare system across its operations in just five months, without disrupting core processes or changing its existing ticketing environment. IVU Traffic Technologies supported the customer with IVU.SUITE, including IVU.fare and IVU.ticket, to prepare the transition for all WVG companies and sales channels.

IVU Traffic Technologies implemented an external fare-model transformation and standardized data import process so the new fare data could be integrated without special system updates. The approach avoided interventions in WVG’s ticketing system, enabled the existing hardware to remain in use, and compressed fare data by up to 1:2,000 to improve performance. In total, IVU updated software on around 850 on-board computers and mobile handheld devices, allowing WVG to launch the new ticket portfolio on time.
